Unfortunately there are critical shortages in PPE across many different NHS settings. As a result staff are working on the front line without the essential armour they need to protect themselves in this fight against COVID-19.
Without adequate PPE, not only are healthcare staff at huge risk of getting sick themselves, but they are almost certain to pass it onto
their patients and their families.
The Government are working hard to procure PPE, however there are huge challenges due to increased global demand. This campaign is helping find new supply chains to urgently respond to the current shortages.
As a result of the pandemic there is an unprecedented
increase in demand for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
